Lost Compass: Legend of the Starless Seas is a light hearted plot-based, story driven, and character focused fantasy roleplay group. Centered around the pursuits of the infamous ship, The Leviathan, the story follows the crew of Captain Gold and her First Mate. Over the course of the story, crewmates will learn the truth behind The Leviathan's disappearance 200 years ago, unravel the mystery behind a lost race, and engage in sea shanties while finding camaraderie within the crew. Inspired by JRPGs and works of fiction such as Wind Waker, Skyrim, and D&D, our hope is to have a diverse and rich world to explore and collaborate within.
The group is story based, and as such, it is not a casual activity group. The aim of the group is to have no more than 20 members max, and due to the small size we want everyone to be active to an extent by participating in every alternating event at minimum (exceptions can absolutely be made, we simply ask for advance notice if possible!). Events will rotate between main and side story quests to advance the plot. More information regarding our events and activity requirements can be viewed in the events section, please keep these activity requirements in mind before applying! :)
We are also putting a heavy emphasis on social community. The structuring of events will force you to roleplay and interact with new people each time, and we hope that hosting game nights and movie nights will create a larger sense of community within our server. This is not the group to join if you prefer to roleplay with just a few people or in solely in DMs; events will be server-wide and interaction across members is encouraged.
Of note, this group was made for old and new friends alike to RP, so the group is semi-private! About half the members will be from invites and the other half will be from the public! <3
While there's a lot of lore presented on the following pages, this site primarily serves to paint a picture of the world and give inspiration for characters through the history, religion, and lore. Do not feel like you need to memorize everything, as important lore will be reiterated during the group’s story! Pages in this site are listed out in the recommended order of viewing.

Etiquette. Basic RP etiquette applies. Treat the other members and the moderators with respect; if there’s a problem, please try to be mature about it! The aim is to have a close knit group, so we ask that you be civil about problems when they arise.

Cliques are unavoidable, but we ask for for everyone to keep the server a fun and welcome place! Also please note that because of the randomized aspect of group events, you’ll likely be split up from friends. _:3c

If you have an issue with how the group is being run, please please speak up to a moderator rather than bashing the group in DMs! The mods will not know that something needs changed unless you bring it up. Please bring it up sooner rather than later - we want everyone to enjoy the group!

No ship-chasing. Do not join this group if your aim is to end up with a ship (unless that ship is the leviathan hahahahhahaha no ok). Please join with a character that you’d still love and cherish even if their only love ends up being the sea *:･ﾟ

Age Rating. For the safety and comfort of everyone involved, you must be 18+ to join. Characters must also be 18+. The group will involve violence, death, strong language, and potentially darker themes, though we hope to keep it a lighthearted shounen-esque group at its core.

Activity. This is not a casual group. We won’t have explicit activity checks, but we will make sure that every member is participating in every other event, or that they’ve contacted us about not being able to. At the end of the day, all we ask for is communication!

Events are active, rather than passive. To be marked as participating, all you really need to do is send some RP responses, use the bot to explore/investigate/interact with your surroundings, or draw art. Though we require activity in every other event at minimum, the level of activity required for individual events is small. See events for more details.

Removal. There is no strike system. Members will likely receive a behavioral warning if necessary, but removal is at the discretion of the moderators. We hope we don’t have to remove anyone - please just communicate with us!

RPs. We encourage RPs to take place within the server when they can! This isn’t a hard and fast rule, and HCs are absolutely allowed in DMs, but its nice to see the way everyone is progressing! Please also update your heart chart when you can so we can track relationships (please i love looking at heartcharts)
